Ronnie Maher Photography

I was given a camera at the age of 15 and from then on I knew photography would be central in my life.  It wasn’t a straight path to my current life as a photographer, but each detour helped prepare me for the work I do today. I photograph both personally and professionally, but it’s the fine art and documentary projects that feed the creative spirit that I hope shines through in all my work.

As a photographer, a large part of my work centers around educating and mentoring young people. Young people who for a variety of reasons do not have access to art education or the tools to tell their stories.  Since 2002, I have spent much time teaching photography to “at-risk” youth in Norwalk CT and more recently in Nagarote, Nicaragua.
